Wow, week #23 was full, full, full. We read "My Heart is like a Zoo" and then created our own heart creatures.
Our Valentines parties were full of games such as matching numbers and hearts,
balancing candy hearts on popsicle sticks,
racing pom poms by blowing them down the table,

and stacking candy hearts to see who could make the tallest tower.
We also painted with heart marshmallows and played with our friends.

Our number for the week was 12 and our letter was Vv for valentines.
Some students created snowflakes with pattern blocks and
the 4s classes watched a Veggie Tales video to celebrate the letter Vv some more! Lastly, another adorable picture of one of our 3s students concentrating on her heart tower.

Our letter was Hh during week #22.  We read "A House for Hermit Crab" and each child in the 4s classes decorated a shell for hermit crab. We also had a top secret mission of creating a gift for Valentine's Day.  I can't tell you what we made, but the students were so excited about them.  Here are a couple of pictures of them working on their gifts.

During week #21, the 4s classes worked with diamonds and the 3s class had finished all of the colors and started on shapes, the first one being circle. Our number was 11 for all classes and our letter was Dd. We had show and share on Friday and many of the students shared something that started with the letter Dd. We had dogs, dolls, dimes, a dump truck, and a dinosaur to name a few.

The 3s class painted on the easels with pink, purple, and blue. We also got the big blocks down again. Those are always a hit.
We continue to work on social skills like being kind, helpful, truthful and sharing. It's exciting to see new friendships being made.
In the big room, we worked on stepping onto and off of the stool and also jumping onto and off of the stool.  The children really are growing and having fun while they do it.
