During week #3, we learned the letter Ii and talked about insects.  All insects have six legs and three body parts.  In the 4s morning class we had the privilege of observing a caterpillar and a katydid that two of our friends brought in.  In the 3s class, we actually had a cricket show up in our classroom during the week so we put it in a jar to observe before releasing it outside. Our color of the week was blue and the 3s class painted on the easels with blue paint.

Week #2 was all about apples. In the 4s classes, we had a taste test with red, yellow, and green apples and then we graphed our favorites.  We read about apples, we painted with apples and we built apple trees with popsicle sticks, pom poms, and a toilet paper roll.

Welcome to a new school year! I am excited about all of the fun things we will accomplish this year and all that we will learn. One of the high school teachers donated this huge box to our classroom. It was a huge success! The students had so much fun creating and using their imaginations. It served many purposes-police space ship, boat, garbage truck and more.
